Director of Youth Ministries
El Segundo UMC is looking for a half-time (20 hours per week) director of youth ministries. This person will design and implement opportunities to promote spiritual growth, build community, and provide a safe, fun environment for middle and high school students (6-12 grades.) He or she will be responsible for connecting the youth and the congregation and community and for reaching out to unchurched youth. A bachelor's degree in a related field is desirable, but experience in working with middle and high school youth is a must. A passion for working with young people, a good sense of humor, and a strong faith commitment is crucial. The director of youth ministries will work closely with the pastor and the education committee. His or her beginning salary will be approximately $20,000 per year with no additional benefits. Director of Youth Ministry (Part-Time)

Responsibilities: Planning and implementing youth activities for grades 7-12 on a weekly basis. Culver-Palms UMC Director of Choral and Traditional Ensembles
The music director's main duty is to plan and develop, in consultation with the senior pastor, the traditional music ministry of the church.
Specific tasks include:
• Co-ordinate weekly anthem and other music selections (such as offertories) with the senior pastor's liturgical outline.
• Direct the volunteer chancel choir in Thursday evening and Sunday morning rehearsals as well as special rehearsals for seasonal services and concerts such as Christmas, Easter and Choir Sunday (generally held in June).
• Develop the music ministry by coordinating and assisting instrumentalists, soloists and small groups to add to the worship experience.
• Substitute for the accompanist when unavailable, ill or otherwise unable to play.
• Facilitate recruitment of additional choir members through personal contact, spoken and written word.
A local hire is preferred who would have the interest and flexibility to participate in selected church family activities.
Previous experience in Choral directing and teaching is preferred but not essential.
A student completing formal musical education with minimum experience will be considered.
Accomplished ability playing piano and organ is highly desirable.

Culver-Palms UMC seeking Choir Accompanist
The choir accompanist assists the Music Director during rehearsals, services and concerts by playing the piano and organ. The accompanist encourages the volunteer choir members with a willingness to aid the director in supporting and recruiting singers through personal contact.
The normal schedule consists of a Thursday evening rehearsal (7:00-9:00 pm), a Sunday morning rehearsal (9:00-10:30 am), and one Sunday morning service (10:45 am - 12:00 pm).
At selected seasons additional rehearsals and services will be needed. For example Christmas, Easter and Choir Sunday usually scheduled in June.
In the event the accompanist is unavailable to play, he or she will be responsible with the Choir director's assent to supply a substitute.
A local hire with scheduling flexibility is preferred.
The ability to play both piano and organ is extremely important.
Director of Christian Youth Programs - FUMC Ventura

JOB SUMMARY
There are two primary functions of this position. First, as worship leader: to vision, plan, and produce relevant and transformational blended worship that engages our mission field of folks who are mildly churched, progressive, young professionals and families with children. Second, as contemporary music leader, to bring a knowledge of contemporary Christian and secular music to complement our existing chancel choir and organ music.
JOB DUTIES (including, but not limited to)

? Build a house band and anchor same by playing lead instrument, preferably keyboards
? Empower individuals and groups to use their talents in music, the performing arts, and the visual arts in worship

? Continually seek ways to improve our existing services and expand worship opportunities

Associate General Secretary Division of Ordained Ministry
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the GBHEM Executive Staff, providing leadership in the execution of the board’s mission through the strategic plan and representing GBHEM through work related to General Conference Initiatives delegated to GBHEM. As a member of the executive staff, working in consultation with the general secretary, the incumbent will respond to needs on behalf of the entire board as a strategic partner and team member.
As the senior executive of the Division of Ordained Ministry (DOM), s/he will be responsible for the successful execution of the work assigned to the DOM and the oversight and supervision of the staff of the DOM. This includes staff and budget management, planning and coordination, assignment of responsibilities, and evaluation of program and staff within the DOM.
The Associate General Secretary (DOM) represents the GBHEM in a variety of relationships with entities within and beyond The United Methodist Church. These include (but are not limited to) the Association of United Methodist Theological Schools (AUMTS), the Ministry Study Commission, the University Senate, the Commission on Theological Education and the United Methodist Theological Schools in Europe.
The Associate General Secretary provides leadership in the area of ordained, licensed, endorsed and certified ministry through work with annual conferences both within and beyond the United States. This includes coordinating the development and provision of resources for boards of ordained ministry and the Course of Study. This work also includes the distribution and management of the Ministerial Education Fund (MEF).
Requirements: Master of Divinity; ordained elder in full connection; minimum of four years experience as a member of a conference board of ordained ministry; strong knowledge of the structure and polity of the United Methodist Church; previous management experience in either large church or non-profit agency; strong leadership skills and ability to work well in a team environment; strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically (visionary); strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; excellent written and oral communication skills; sensitivity to a diverse population: culturally, racially, and theologically; ability to communicate and work with colleagues in a team approach; consultative and cooperative leadership and superior management skills.
